NEGOTIATION OF UK/FUTURE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION AGREEMENT: RECIPROCAL ENFORCEMENT OF JUDGEMENTS
1. Further to our telephone conversation this morning, I am writing to confirm that a preliminary meeting to discuss the negotiation of the above-mentioned agreement will be held on Thursday, 11 November 1993 from 2.30 - 4.30 pm in Room K211 of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The talks with officials of the Hong Kong Government, led by Mr David Edwards of their International Law Department, will be held in mid-December. Dates for these have not yet been finalised.
2.
Thank you for your letter of 30 July to Peter Ricketts and your comments on the draft text. Our Legal Advisers are considering these and will be in contact. I must apologise that we have failed to respond to the points you have raised before now.
I have spoken to Mr Peter Beaton of the Scottish Courts Administration, who tells me that he will be attending the meeting on 11 November.
3.
Yours ever,
W A Wyver
