in your reply of 23 June, it may be necessary to hold a second round on some of the subjects, but hope it may be possible to deal with outstanding points on most of them in correspondence. It seems unlikely that we shall be able to do much more than exchange views on VAA but we for our part would find that helpful.

We have not yet been able to finalise our teams for all the subjects, but at the moment it seems likely that we shall form up as follows. I shall lead for HKG on everything except VAA and ASA and David Skinner (Constitutional Affairs Branch) will sit for some of our discussions:

Of course, if HMG have any comments on any of the subjects before we meet which you feel it would be useful to raise we shall be glad to hear from you. John Hunter is, understand, already in correspondence with Rod Bunten about certain aspects of Fugitive offenders and MLA.
