On the Chinese side, the coordination and implementation of the work of verification and transport will be the responsibility of the Guangdong Provincial Offices for Indo-Chinese Refugees, Foreign Affairs and Public Security and the Shenzhen Municipal Foreign Affairs office. the Hong Kong side, the Political Adviser's Office, the Security Branch and the Immigration Department will be responsible for the repatriation process.

Both sides agree that refugees originally settled in Guangxi Autonomous Region and Hainan Province will be returned by sea and handed over at Beihai and Haikou respectively. Each batch will consist

Those originally of approximately 500 people. settled in Guangdong, Fujian and Yunnan Provinces will be returned by road and handed over at Sha Tou Kok. Those returning by road can be sent back at any time in the light of circumstances. All returns will be completed as rapidly as possible.

Both sides agreed that the repatriation work will be implemented in stages, by batches and according to Province of origin, in an orderly, rapid and continuous manner. The first batch of approximately 100 people will return by land to Guangdong Province on 3 September 1993.
