I hope that the Chinese side can give positive consideration to this proposal. Obviously coordinated preparations will be necessary on the two sides of the border. The Transport Branch of the Hong Kong Government will be happy to hold detailed discussion of the proposal at the Joint Sub-Working Group on Cross-Border Transport Services which
meets on 10 June.

Lastly, the Hong Kong Government would also be grateful if the Chinese side would again consider further measures to divert more vehicles from Man Kam To to Lok Ma Chau
in order to relieve the continuing congestion at Man Kam To.
