UK/US Memorandum of Consultations
Delegations
representing the Government
of the
United Kingdom and the Government of the United States of
America met in Washington DC from 21 to 24 September 1993
to discuss the changes that would need to be made to the
United Kingdom/United States of America Air Services Agreement ("the Agreement") consequent to the conclusion of
separate Air Services Agreement between the United States
of America and Hong Kong and related arrangements.
Delegation lists are attached as Annex 1.

The delegations decided that an Exchange of Notes would be required to effect the necessary amendments to the
Agreement, and to make certain, other consequential
provisions, with effect from the date of entry into force
of the Air Services Agreement between the United States of
America and Hong Kong; the draft of the Exchange of Notes
is attached as Annex 2.

The
authorities
arrangements
aeronautical
delegations stated that their
intend to apply the aforementioned related
from and after 24 September 1993, on the basis of comity and reciprocity, under the Agreement in place of
the arrangements for the routes set out in paragraph 1(ii)
of Annex 2 pending the entry into force of the Air Services
Agreement between the United States of America and Hong
Kong.
