HK/US Air Services: Southern Air Transport

Thank you for your letter of 22 April. The denial traffic rights to Southern Air Transport (SAT) on the New York/Hong Kong and Shannon/Hong Kong sectors does not, in my view, remove our objection to the routeing of the service, which remains manifestly R.T.W. and is not the Pacific All-Cargo Air Services that Bermuda 2 requires.

Note 3 Section 5 would permit SAT to operate Hong Kong-Taipei-Anchorage-Columbus-New York, but in doing so they would need to ferry in the aircraft from Shannon. you and FCO Legal Advisers agree, grateful if you would discover whether this is likely to be a problem for SAT.
