AMENDMENT TO THE UK/SOUTH AFRICA AIR SERVICES AGREEMENT

1. Your letter of 9 March 1993 has reference.

2. The Office of the Chief State Law Advisor (International Law) has pe- rused the amended Annex to the Air Services Agreement and has concur- red with the contents thereof. A slight change has been made with respect to the restriction-on-stop-over clause. In this regard the said clause will be the last sentence to paragraph 3 to both Route I and II and of Sections 1 and 2. The amended Annex is enclosed.

Article 18

ENTRY INTO FORCE

This Agreement shall /enter into force on the date of signature and shall replace · the Air Services Agreement between the Contracting Parties signed in Pretoria on 26 October 1945.

In accordance with the constitutional Law of the Republic of South Africa, an Exchange of Notes constitutes an amendment to the existing Agreement. The necessary arrangements will, therefore, be made, subject to your reply to the proposal contained in paragraph 3 above, to effect the Exchange of Notes.
