Investment Protection Agreement

Thank you for your letters of July 6 and 9 1993, to which we have now received the following comments from Stockholm.

The text in Article 3 (1) and (2) of your draft model is accepted. Article 3 (1) of our agreement will thus read as follows: "which it accords to investments or returns of its own investors or to investments or returns of investors of any other state." Article 3 (2) will read as follows: "which it accords to its own investors or to investors of any other state." Consequently Article 7 (2) is not needed and thereby omitted. These are the only amendments in the initialled text.

There are no objections to the Chinese text except a detail suggestion in Article 2 (2) which will be conveyed to you separately. Your proposed changes of July 6 are considered to be improvements.

We will also send you the Swedish translation which is underway from Stockholm and in which consideration has been given to the above mentioned changes.
