ARTICLE 1(3)(c)

English:

Swedish:

financial value

ekonomisk värde

-3-

STS 952/93

On the face of it, the Swedish expression is broader in scope than

the English. If it is felt that the English is meant to be limited

to financial or pecuniary value, a possible equivalent in Swedish

would be "penningvärde".

ARTICLE 1(3)(e)

English:

Swedish:

cultivate

utnyttja

The Swedish term is usually taken to mean "utilise" or "exploit"

i.e. something not greatly different from "exploatera" in the

following line. If it is thought desirable to have a specific reference to growing or cropping plants, trees or other organisms,

a Swedish term such as "odla" or "kultivera" might perhaps be

considered.

ARTICLE 2(2)

Swedish (line 13):

should the word "med" or "i" perhaps be

inserted before "avseende"?

ARTICLE 4(2)

Swedish (last line): spelling of "konvertibla".

ARTICLE 5(2)

English (lines 4, 8): shares

Swedish (lines 4, 10): andelar

In practice, most of the companies involved are likely to be joint-stock companies. Shares in such companies are usually called

"aktier" in Swedish. We wonder whether it might be desirable to

add after "andelar" the words "eller aktier".
