That is not the case now. The proposed introduction of parallel legislation to protect cable programmes would result in a supplement to what has been extended to Hong Kong in the past which would be entirely consistent (at least, we must ensure that it is consistent) with the degree of protection of cable programmes which is available under domestic UK law and which could be extended to Hong Kong, either via the 1956 or the 1988 Acts.
