HONG KONG PARTICIPATION AT WIPO MEETING

1. Thank you for fax of 3 November enclosing a letter dated 29 October from Mr Y K Tam. We have no objection to Miss A C Walters and Miss Mamie Chan attending the WIPO meeting as part of the UK delegation.

We do not receive any information about WIPO meetings and therefore I am unable to assist you by supplying details or documents of the forthcoming meeting as requested by Mr Tam. However, I have spoken to Elsa Scaarf (IPPD) about this request. She was slightly puzzled by it as Hong Kong have been sending delegates to WIPO meetings for a number of years and as a result they are automatically on a circulation list for receiving details of WIPO meetings and WIPO documents. Miss Scarff kindly undertook to clarify exactly what is required with Miss Walters, whom she knows very well, and to provide copies of any documentation which Hong Kong have not received.
