With these important developments at hand, it would be beneficial for HKG to establish closer links with intellectual property authorities of other WIPO member states through wider exposure at major international fora, notably the Meetings of the WIPO Governing Bodies.

wish to note that Miss A C Waters, the Deputy Director of Intellectual Property, raised this

issue with Mr Alec Sugden of the UK Patent Office during her recent visit to the UK. According to Miss Waters, Mr Sugden anticipated no problems for HKG to attend these Meetings as part of the UK delegation.

Subject to your advice, we propose that Miss Alice Tai, the Director of Intellectual Property, should attend the forthcoming Meeting of the WIPO Governing Bodies on 20-29 September 1993 as part of the UK delegation.
