Before sending Telno 1013 to the FCO, we have sought advice from our own legal adviser and copyright lawyers in the Intellectual Property Department to the effect that although the 1984 Act is repealed in the UK by the Copyright Designs...and Patonta...Act 1999, it is still legally possible to extend the 1984

extend the 1984 Act to Hong Kong. I note from your letter dated 16 July to Ms Rebecca Pun that the matter is with your Legal Adviser.
