UN WORLD CONFERENCE ON WOMEN PEKING 1995

p.a.

1. The fourth UN World Conference on Women will be held in Peking from 4 - 15 September 1995. The last Conference was held in Nairobi in 1985. I enclose a copy of an information leaflet setting out the backgound to the Conference and outlining its scope.

2.

I should be grateful if you would let me know by 31 March 1994, whether the Government of Hong Kong will wish to nominate a representative to attend this Conference. The expenses of any representative would have to be met by the Government of Hong Kong.

3.

If you do not wish to nominate a representative to attend the Conference but think it possible that your Government may have views which you would like reflected at the Conference by the UK delegation, we would be happy to send you further background material as this becomes available. Similarly, if you would like to receive copies of the documentation produced by the Conference we can arrange this.

4. I enclose a copy of the outline for a report we are preparing about progress made on the Nairobi Forward looking Strategies (also enclosed). If your Government wishes to contribute to the report please let me have written text by 31 March 1994.

Fun ever
