Container Terminal No. 10 (CT 10)
Land Development Progress Committee approved the preferred concept plan for Phase I of the Lantau Port Development in August 1992. To meet forecast port demands, CT10 is scheduled to be operational in mid 1997; this also ties in with the opening of the Lantau Fixed Crossing. Preliminary design for CT10 and associated facilities including back-up area and road links have to start around mid 1993.

LegCo Finance Committee approved funds for site investigations and design on 11 June.
China has withheld
agreement for CT9. Given the delay,
some
consortium members have suggested that CT 9 is no longer financially viable. FB has carried out a study and doubts whether this is more than a ploy to
argue for a smaller premium.
