Opening hours of the Hong Kong/China border
Consideration is being given to opening the Lok Ma Chau road crossing 24 hours a day in 1994/95
PA raised this with NCNA (HK Branch) in early June 1993. Reaction from the Guangdong Government not favourable, suggesting that the matter be reviewed next year. The Joint Sub-Working Group on Cross Border Transport Services also discussed it with Shenzhen on 28.9.93. Response was quite positive.
They
said they had problems to sort out with Guangzhou.
The
commercial/industrial associations will assist by lobbying the Chinese side.
