Bus Advertisement on Report Corruption

43.

A bus advertisement campaign for 1993/94 on report corruption will be launched at a ceremony to be held on 25 September. A total of eight buses with the ICAC hotline painted on, all running different routes, will be engaged in the campaign which will last from September to March next year.

Preventive Education for Owners Corporation

44.

In addition to organising district seminars for owners corporations (OC) to discuss corruption prevention and the recent amendments to the Multi-Storey Buildings (Owners Incorporation) Ordinance, the Community Relations Department is considering ways to reach the 3,800 owners corporations en masse through less labour-intensive means. One possibility is through the direct mail method sending OC chairmen a checklist on corruption prevention.

45.

According to press reports, the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood has suggested that resource centres in the districts should be set up. The purpose is to provide advice and assistance on the proper management of owners corporations and how malpractice could be prevented. The Community Relations Department would be most happy to contribute to such centres should the idea materialize.
