SCOPE

(1)

Paragraph 2

The Participants will, through their Customs authorities

in accordance with the provisions set out in this

Cooperative Arrangement afford each other mutual assistance :

(a)

in order to ensure that customs laws are properly

observed;

(b) in order to prevent, investigate and repress

contravention of customs laws.

(2) Assistance within the framework of this Cooperative

Arrangement will be rendered by

be rendered by the Participants subject to the laws and legal provisions of their respective territories, and within their respective competence and available resources.

This Cooperative Arrangement does not provide for the

recovery in the requested Participant's territory duties,

taxes and any other charges incurred in the territory of the

requesting Participant.

COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION

The Participants will supply to each other, either on

request or on their own initiative, all available information

which may help to ensure proper enforcement of customs laws.
