FCO PASSES FOR THE GOVERNOR OF HONG KONG AND OFFICIALS

1.

Please refer to my minute of 29 March confirming arrangements for the Governor of Hong Kong, Mr Chris Patten, together with Mr Bowen Leung and Mr Edward Llewellyn to have FCO passes issued at 2.30pm on Monday 5 April.

2.

We will do our best to ensure that these three passes are returned to you when the party departs the UK. But, as the Governor and officials will be visiting the FCO frequently in future, we would be grateful if you could ensure that these passes, once issued, are retained for future use.

3. Please could you also arrange for their records to be kept on the computer - not automatically deleted as in the past so that, if necessary in future, a duplicate pass could be issued without the inconvenience of having to take new photographs.
