The Executive Council today considered the Electoral Provisions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 1993. This gives legislative effect to the constitutional proposals in the Governor's October 7 Address to the Legislative Council, the exception of the Boundary and Election Commission Bill which was gazetted on 29 January. The Council agreed that the Electoral Provisions Bill should be introduced into the Legislative Council.

This will not necessarily be the last consideration that the Executive Council will give to the Bill. In accordance with normal practice, it will wish to consider any amendment of substance to the Bill favoured by a majority within the Legislative Council.
