(p) In section 23(4)—–
(i) repeal "duties under this Ordinance" and substitute "functions or duties under this Ordinance or the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance ( of 1993)":

Commission Ordinance ( of 1993)" after "Ordinance”.
(r) In section 24(2) repeal “section 28" and substitute "section 7 of the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance (of 1993)".
(s) In section 25(1)—–
(i) add "or the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance ( of 1993)" after "under this Ordinance"; (ii) add "and the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance ( of 1993)" after "in this Ordinance".
(1) Add-
"26A. Postponement or adjournment
(1) Where the Governor-
(u) before the holding of an ordinary
election; or
(b) during the polling or counting of votes
in respect of an ordinary election,
is of the opinion that the election, poll or count as the case may be is likely to be or is being obstructed, disrupted, undermined or seriously affected by riot, open violence or such other occurrence of public danger, he may declare the election, poll or count, as the case may be, to be postponed or adjourned.
(2) Where an election, poll or count is postponed or adjourned pursuant to subsection (1), the Governor shall appoint a date for the holding of an election, poll or count in place of the postponed or adjourned election, poll or count, which shall be not later than 14 days from the date on which the election, poll or count would have been held if not for such declaration.".
(u) Repeal section 27 and substitute—
"27. Penalties concerning supervision
of elections
(1) Any person appointed to be a returning officer or assistant returning officer at an election who neglects or refuses to perform the functions of his office in relation to that election commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $5,000.
(2) No prosecution for an offence under subsection (1) shall be instituted without the consent of the Attorney General.
