14. Any comments on these drafts from the Prime Minister's Office will reach

departments by 5pm on Thursday 11 November. Departments must ensure that

the top copy of the final text arrives (NOT STAPLED) at the Prime Minister's

Press Office by 10.00am on Tuesday 16 November. The Prime Minister's Press

Office will then make 200 copies of this final text and no subsequent amendments

can therefore be made by Departments.

15. It should be emphasised that these are deadline times and the operation will

work more smoothly if draft copies are forwarded as early as possible to allow

maximum time for corrections and duplication.

16.

Departments should inform Sharon Carter of the name and telephone number

of their Press Officer in charge of preparing their notes by Tuesday 2

November. Should Departments need further advice on these guidelines they

should consult the Deputy Press Secretary at No 10.
