AMENDMENT TO THE COLONIAL REGULATIONS

Problem

1. An amendment to the Colonial Regulations is required to take account of Hong Kong's Judicial Officers (Tenure of

Office) Ordinance.

Recommendation

2.

(i)

I recommend that the Secretary of State should:

approve an amendment to Regulation 54 (6) and a

consequential amendment to Regulation 65 of Appendix II to Part 1 of the Colonial Regulations which applies only to public officers in Hong Kong.

(ii) agree that the Governor may amend paragraph 3 (1) and delete paragraph 3(2) of the Disciplinary Procedures

(Colonial Regulations) Regulations (DP (CR) R).

A departmental Legal Adviser and the Hong Kong Government are

content.
