JUDICIAL OFFICERS (TENURE OF OFFICE) ORDINANCE

1. I attach a copy of a letter from Hong Kong confirming that your proposal to amend paragraph 3 (1) and delete paragraph 3 (2) of the Disciplinary Procedures (Colonial Regulations) Regulations is acceptable.

2. I have, therefore, slightly amended our earlier draft submission to reflect this change and the fact that the Bill is now an Ordinance and would be grateful for your comments. I have attached a draft of the amendment to paragraph 3 of the DP (CR) Rs; please could you let me know if this is what you had in mind.

Steve Stevens has informed me that it is likely to be another two-three weeks before the amendments to the Letters Patent are signed.
