Dear Mr Daly,
HER MAJESTY'S OVERSEAS CIVIL SERVICE (HMOCS): SECURITY VETTING AND RESIDENCE
I understand that Martin Sterling in the Cabinet Office has copied to you his letter to me of 11 March and my letter to Adrien Stringer, MOD of 15 February
3
Mr Sterling mentions that the Home Office is in the process of revising the guidelines on the vetting of police and may, therefore, wish to comment on sub-paragraph a) of the Vetting section of the note "HMOCS officers and Dependents: Public Service Appointments" which was included with my letter to Mr Stringer.

I would be very grateful if you could let us have your comments on this matter as soon as possible. As I explained in my letter to Mr Stringer, we hope to hold consultations with members of HMOCS in Hong Kong within the next month or two and this issue is bound to be raised. We will need to ensure that we have all the facts straight before we begin the consultations.
I am copying this letter to Martin Sterling and Adrien Stringer.
