DEATH

17. When an entitled officer dies while serving the Government of the Special Administrative Region, his dependents or personal representatives will be entitled to receive as soon as possible the outstanding balance of compensation due to the entitled officer and the interest thereon.

PLACE OF PAYMENT AND RATE OF EXCHANGE

18. Any payment under this Scheme to an entitled officer or to his dependents or personal representatives will be paid in accordance with any request made from time to time by the officer or his dependents or personal representatives, as the case may be, in any of the following places:

(a) the United Kingdom;

(b) Hong Kong;

(c) in the country from which the officer was recruited or where he intends to reside;

(d) in the case of payment to the dependents or personal representatives of an officer, in the country in which they reside;

(e) in such country as the officer or his dependents or personal representatives may, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, select;

and where payment is to be made at a place other than the United Kingdom, the payment will be made at the official rate of exchange as between sterling and the currency of that place prevailing at the time of payment.

ENTITLED OFFICERS AND OTHERS TO PROVIDE SECRETARY OF STATE WITH NECESSARY INFORMATION

19. Any person claiming to be an entitled officer, an
