(3) In the event that the first or any other instalment, or the balance, of any compensation is not paid within three months of the due day, interest will be paid on the amount of compensation then due at the rate of five per cent per annum for each completed month of delay:
Provided that no such interest will be payable where the failure to make a payment of an instalment or balance of compensation is a consequence of the failure of the officer concerned or his dependents or personal representatives, or any overseas authority, to provide the Secretary of State with information necessary to enable him to make such payment.
ENTITLED OFFICERS WHO LEAVE THE SERVICE OF THE SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES
15. An entitled officer who satisfies the Secretary of State that he has been required to retire from the service of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the abolition of his office, for the purpose of facilitating improvements in the organisation of the department in which he was serving by which greater efficiency or economy may be effected, or on medical grounds not involving his own misconduct, will be entitled to receive the outstanding balance of compensation and any interest due to him as soon as possible after his retirement.
ENTITLED OFFICERS WHO ATTAIN NORMAL RETIREMENT AGE
16. When an entitled officer reaches normal retirement age, he will be entitled to receive the outstanding balance of any compensation and interest due to him as soon as possible after reaching that age.
