Dear Me Goodled,
Mc
It was kind
you to see Chris Birch and myself earlier this week to Bet us know the current position regarding arrangements or HMOCS officers.
Li
We are grateful for the categorical assurance
ssurance that officers will be permitted to retire eat
to retire ear with full payment of pension. We are also grateful that HMG recognises the concern and frustration felt by PROC8 officers over the ongoing delay in presenting revised proposals for consultation.
Given the very extensive period these matters have been under considerathona by HMG, there have been calls for the Association|| to
the matter forward in a more aggressive and activi
activiti: manner. As I mentioned, the Committee has deliberately refrained from organising any kind
of open campaign or political lobby in the UK since this would quickly dact on developments here in Hong Kong. However, the credibility of this approach cannot be sustained for much longer. A growing number of members have come to believe that we are just being strung along and they are looking to
·to pursue the matter through all possible channels in the UK regardless of the undesirable and damaging publicity this would immediately generate for the Administration in Hong Kong.
