Mr Pusinelli will ask about the present position on HMOCS

and may make the following points:

- HMG should either take over the payment of Hong Kong HMOCS

pensions or guarantee the sterling value of pensions at the rate

of exchange which prevailed on the date of each officer's

retirement.

- If this is not possible, the SPOS Regulations should be

modified so that they take account of any decline in the

sterling value of Hong Kong pensions.

- Consideration of the sterling pension safeguard and any amendment to SPOS should not be held up pending a decision on

the proposed compensation element of the package of benefits for

HMOCS officers.

- OSPA should be consulted on any element of the HMOCS package which may affect their members.

A further round of consultations should be held as soon as

possible.
