The Serbia and Montenegro (United Nation Sanctions) Dependent Territories Order

We are urgently trying to assess how we can interpre Article 4 of the captioned Order regarding the impounding of ships owned or controlled from Serbia and Montenegro.

2.

General

We have in port ATRE F, alleged by the US Consulate to be owned by Montenegro interests. The ship' documents indicate that it is owned by a Maltese (probably bras: plate) campany - we are therefore reluctant to impound.

3.

Grateful for urgent advice, by return fax (to 852 87/ 0583), as to how UK will establish beneficial ownership of

vensel in that circumstances.
