Logistic Support. In order to improve efficiency and

flexibility it is intended to form a logistic support regiment in

April 1994; which will bring together QOGTR, Supply Services, RLC

Hong Kong and the ASU. Before the cessation of accompanied

service in FY 96/97 all remaining logistic support, equipment

support and administrative elements should be combined into a

smaller logistic regiment, which would conduct the final

handover.

Logistic Support for Reinforcement.

In order to allow units

in Theatre to drawdown while retaining the capability to provide

full support to reinforcements on operations, additional logistic

units should be added to the reinforcement plan (JTP 30). These

should include a transport squadron (less general purpose

vehicles), a field workshop, elements of a field hospital and a

field ambulance on light scales.

Stock Levels. Stocks in Theatre should be reduced to the

minimum operationally acceptable levels as soon as possible.

These reductions in capability should

should be compensated for by

increases to JTP 30.

Cessation of Accompanied

Service.

The ending of

accompanied service in August 1996 (UK personnel) and November

1996

(Gurkha personnel) will allow the reduction of most
