The HQBF Manpower, Supporting Arms and Services Paper'

contains full details of all proposed reductions in supporting Arms

Broadly speaking, it is intended that reductions will

be achieved in concert with the withdrawals of infantry battalions and

the ending of accompanied service. The principal conclusions of the

Paper are:

RN and RAF. There is little scope for any reduction in the

RN while a force of 3 patrol craft is retained in Theatre.

Some

small savings are planned, such as the removal of the 3 man

Clearance Diving Team in 1994, and there may be scope for further

savings by a rationalisation of harbour ferry services.

Similarly, the strength of RAF Sek Kong can only be reduced
