The second Gurkha battalion should be withdrawn by October
1994. Withdrawal is to be achieved by amalgamation of 2 GR and 6
GR, as planned in the Brigade of Gurkhas rundown plan.

Subject to confirmation in the 1995 Review, the third Gurkha
battalion should be withdrawn in December 1996, after which time.
the Garrison's infantry element will reduce to a single UK
battalion. The withdrawal of the third Gurkha battalion is to be
achieved by the Arms Plot move of 1 RGR from Hong Kong to UK.
SUPPORTING ARMS AND SERVICES
16. The new BFHK concept of operations will result in a reduction
in the levels of combat support required. An example of this is the
