INTRODUCTION
This plan sets out the responsibilities of Radio Television Hong Kong, and the arrangements for discharging those responsibilities,

The Director of Broadcasting will be responsible during an emergency for ensuring that RTHK is organised to support the Government's information effort.

This will necessitate the maintenance of the 24 hours news service in Chinese and English over RTHK's own radio channels, the provision of broadcast material to commercial TV and radio stations and the deployment of Outside Broadcast resources to cover important events.
4.
The Director of Broadcasting will be a member of, and will receive general directions from, the Information Policy Committee (IPC). A senior RTHK officer, to advise and assist on TV and radio matters, will have an office next to the Combined Information Centre (CIC).
EMERGENCY BROADCASTING DUTIES

As RTHK has a major role to play during emergencies, the co-operation of all staff is imperative to ensure an effective system of emergency broadcasting arrangements.
6.
Staff specifically required for duty must take all reasonable steps to ensure that their tasks are carried out regardless of the nature of the emergency, but in
doing so they are not expected to endanger their lives.
