Owners who are unable to park their vehicles within walled premises should contact the oil company they serve to obtain advice and instructions. As many as possible will be accommodated at the oil company's terminals and depots although companies should bear in mind the dangers of congestion and the increased threat of sabotage. Priority parking at depots will be given to fully loaded vehicles.

All vehicle operators should be warned that the vanguard of an emergency, spasmodic disturbances may occur and crowds may try to overturn dangerous goods vehicles in order to occupy and harass the authorities. Contact should be made with local Police stations to enquire whether escorts are required before lorries are despatched. In the event of escorts being needed, the Oil Supplies Unit will coordinate, enlisting the help of the GSECC if

necessary.
