Curfew During A Period Of Restricted Supply

10.

If disturbances occur during a time of general water restriction, and a curfew is imposed, water control activities must continue. On receipt of a warning of an impending curfew, an immediate review of supply hours will be made. The following arrangements will probably be necessary

(a) On receipt of warning of curfew

all standpipe supplies will be turned on with the minimum delay to enable all persons dependent on such supplies to obtain as much water as possible for use during the curfew;

all areas to which supplies have been turned off for more than six hours will be turned on;

all areas on supply when the warning is received will be turned off as late as possible during the warning period unless conditions indicate that they can be safely left on; and

all areas which are not receiving supply on receipt of the warning, and which have received water within the previous six hours, will be left off;

During curfew

(i)

it will probably be necessary to carry out limited

adjustments of supply during this period if fires break out; such adjustments will be

carried out under the normal arrangements controlled by the Fire Services or by the Water Supplies Department;
