The Tactical Force
The Tactical Force comprises three units the Emergency Unit, the Mountain Rescue Unit and the Liaison Unit. Tactical Force personnel are specially trained in their specific areas of duty and can be rapidly
mobilized for duty, i.e. within an hour to an-hour-and-a-half of callout.

Communications

The CAS radio-telephone network comprises 31 static sets, 22 portable sets and 10 portamobile sets. The static and porta-mobile sets are linked to all Regional CAS Units Headquarters and the Police Regional Controls. The portable sets have six channels and are compatible with the frequencies of the RAF/RHKAAF helicopters, Agriculture and Fisheries Department (Forestry Division), CAS portamobile sets and all CAS Unit Headquarters. Of the 10 portamobile sets, all are fitted to public address systems mounted on departmental vehicles. In addition to these, there are 30 short-range hand-held transceivers for point-to-point communication.

The CAS Emergency Operational Telephone Directory
The CAS Emergency Operational Telephone Directory contains all Government Departmental Emergency contact telephone numbers, as well as Essential Public Utility Companies and CAS Units. 900 copies are distributed annually.
