Roval Observatory
The Experimental Officers and Scientific Assistants do not agree that radiation monitoring and assessment duties are within their duty charter although this had been made clear to them. CSB, in conjunction with FB, is however examining the possibility of granting a hardship allowance to staff.
Education Department
The Association of Lecturers, Colleges of Education, is exerting pressure on the Education Department for an earlier review of the promotion ratio between Senior Lecturer and Lecturer and has brought up the issue to CSB. It is against the idea that the review should be more appropriately conducted after the establishment of the Institute of Education.
Correctional Services Department (CSD)
The CSD (Psychiatic Nurse) Branch of HK Chinese Civil Servants Association is dissatisfied with the CSD management's style in handling staff relations and other operational matters affecting its members. It has turned to the President of HK Chinese Civil Servants' Association, who is a member of the Senior Civil Service Council, for assistance. CSB will liaise with the department to look for ways to solve the problem.
