Overseas officers on permanent terms on reaching MPS 34 (or equivalent) or above
4.
On reaching MPS 34 (or equivalent) or above, officers on flexible vacation leave terms may transfer to vacation leave terms (with provision for annual leave) with effect from a current date or at the latest on commencement of his next tour. Their annual leave cycles will run from the beginning of their current or next tour, depending on the date of their
their transfer to vacation leave terms. Those who
already on vacation leave terms will have their annual leave cycles running from the commencement date of their current tour. Notwithstanding the basis
basis for counting annual leave cycles, they will only be eligible for annual leave starting from the cycle straddling the date of reaching MPS 34 (or equivalent) or above.
Overseas agreement officers on transfer to permanent terms
5.
They will remain on their current annual leave cycles and their tour will
start from the commencement date of the annual leave cycle straddling the date of transfer. Those who transfered to permanent terms on or after 1 January 1993 and had their annual leave cycles adjusted under the previous arrangement may be permitted by their Head of Department to readjust the cycles under the new arrangement retrospectively. This means readjustment may be permitted to the effect that these officers remained on their previous annual leave cycles on transfer to the permanent terms, and their tour would start from the commencement date of the annual leave cycle straddling the date of transfer. A copy of the approval memo/letter should be sent to this Branch for record.
