This Circular Memorandum announces a revision to the basis for counting annual
annual leave cycles for overseas officers on permanent terms, and the bassociated amendments to Civil Service Regulations. The revision aims to 'standardise the basis for counting annual leave cycles for different categories of officers.

Overseas officers on permenent terms on MPS 34 equivalent) and above are eligible for annual leave. With immediate effect, counting of their annual leave cycles will be changed from the present numerical-year basis (e.g. 1993) to the 12-month basis (e.g. 15 July 1993 to 14 July 1994), i.e. in line with the arrangement for local officers on D4 (or equivalent) and above and overseas agreement officers on MPS 340! (or equivalent) and above Under the new
mon first annual 'leave cycle in a tour will start from the same date as the tour (but see paragraph 3 below). For example, officer who started his tour 'on 1 July 1993 will have his annual leave cycles running from 1 July 1993 to 30 June 19941 July 1994 to 30 June 1995, and so on.
