Notes on the 3 years residence' requirements

does not count towards the residence requirements. Special circumstances. All applicants must meet the first two requirements above. But the Governor may make an ex::ption to the other requirements (including the one about time whic ́ does not count) if he thinks that there are special circumstances in your case. If you do not meet the requirements but you believe thi se ære special circumstances in your case, you should write It the Naturalisation and Nationality Section, Imenigration Di partment, 2nd Floor, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, W:11 Chai, Hong Kong to check whether it is worth making an aplication. You must explain what the special circumstances are.

THE APPLICATION FORM
Which parts you should fill in.
If you meet the '5 years residence' requirements on pages 3 and 4 of this quiție, you shouk)—
fill in parts 1-11, par 14 and pan 16 of the form and cross cut paris 12 and 13 and initial them.
If you are applying on the grounds of Crown service explained on page 4 of this guide, you should-
fill in parts 1-10, parts 13. 14 and part 16 and cross out parts 11 and 12 and initial them.
If you are married to a British Dependent Temitories citizen and you meet the '3 years residence' requirements on pages 5 and 6 of this guide, you should-
fill in parts 1-12 and part 16 and cross out parts 13 and 14 and initial them. If you are married to a British Dependent Territories citizen who meets the Crown or other service requirements on page 5 of this guide, you should- fill in parts 1-13 and part 16 and cross out pan 14 and initial thern.
In all cases part 15 should be completed by the two people who agree to act as your referees (see below).
Notes about some parts of the form
Part 8-Childken under 18 years of age
Children under 18 cannot be included in certificates of naturalisation, but they may be considered for registration as British Dependent Territories citizens. You may apply to have any of your chikken under 18 registered by giving the children's details in part 8.
Part 10-Criminal records
You must give details of all convictions by a court of law in or out of Hong Kong of any crime or offence you committed.
Your application must be supported by two referees. Each must have known you for at least 3 years and be
a British Dependent Territories citizen
aged 25 or over
not related to you
not related to the other referee
not your solicitor or agent
not your subordinate.
Referees will not be acceptable if they have been convicted of an
imprisonable offence during the past 10 years
