1. Mr Day is seeking authorisation to move residences some

years before the lease on his present flat runs out. One of

the elements in the case which he makes is his wife's bad

health. He believes that she would benefit considerably from the move. OED is submitting to the Chief Clerk to discuss the

case for the move in principle with input from HKD. MWU is being consulted.

Day makes to the Number 1 Board in his letter of 4 December to Mr Morris (copy attached). Mr Day mentions (paragraph 7) that the subject of a move from his present flat was aired. implication is (although he does not spell this out) that the Board agreed with his point of view. I would welcome your comments; it would be helpful to know what was said on this head and whether any conclusion was reached.
