Consul-General's room (A1) and his PA (A2)
should be located nearer to the corridor as
this would be the normal entry to Al (comment
this change plus the similar minor refinements proposed separately by individual members of the Committee and Adrian Stephen's (MVD) comments to the Senior Management Officer (BTC) during the former's visit last
week are being separately recorded).
(ii)
Partition changes for the British
Council will be sent as soon as the British
Council have appraised the implications of the likely changes to the staircase routes
particularly those to the student registration area which have been proposed (see para
2 (I)).
(iii) There was debate about the value of
going firm at this stage on fixing the
partitions. Mr Holdaway stated that, although it is understandable that layout/partitions alterations will probably occur throughout the programme, it is essential to keep the
frequency of such changes to a minimum as each
change needs to be approved by the Municipal
authorities. It is necessary, in order to
keep to programme, to submit the design
proposals to the Hong Kong authorities as soon
as the final sketch plans (FSPS) have been approved (scheduled for Jan 1993). Mr Smith already has the current partition/layout changes for the Consulate-General wing. Mr Buchanan agreed to provide those for the British Council as soon as possible (see (g)ii above).
