As regards the 300 names on the Category 3 list, personal particulars on 189 of them have been collected. Enquiry letters will be issued after preliminary character checks are completed.

The present position regarding the other sources potential candidates being pursued by the EC Task Group is as follows:-
a)
Chairmen of newly listed companies
A total of 61 new companies has been listed on the local stock exchange since the present list of candidates was drawn up. Apart from those companies which are incorporated overseas and therefore do not have complete information on the particulars of their chairmen, a list of 27 names has been compiled. Preliminary character checks on them are in progress. Another 9 companies have been listed since the EC Task Group meeting in January 1992, and information on their chairmen is being collected from the Companies Registry. This is an on-going source of candidates.
