A Further Report on the Entrepreneurs Class

and the Way Forward

Purpose

At the Steering Committee meeting on 31 March 1992, members noted the present position regarding the entrepreneurs class (EC) and asked the EC Task Group to consider ways to increase the number of candidates. They also made a number of proposals on revising the selection guidelines. This paper reports on the further progress which has been made and the recommendations of the Task Group, and seeks members' advice on whether these recommendations should be accepted.

In 1990, the EC Task group considered over 1,000 nominations from various sources. The way in which candidates were identified is explained in Annex A. Among the nominees, some 728 were considered as potentially suitable and classified into separate categories according to the degree of their suitability. The latest position regarding the Top List and Categories 1 and 2 lists is as follows:-
