At the Steering Committee meeting held on 21 August 1991, members advised that personality checks and verification interviews should be carried out for applicants in the Navy who scored the highest number of provisional points within their quota of 43. So far, Immigration Department has completed such checks and interviews on 9 principal applicants, their 7 spouses and 8 minor children. The checks and interviews have not revealed any adverse information on any of these applicants or their dependants. All the 9 principal applicants and their 15 dependants appear to be suitable for recommendation by the Governor to the Secretary of State for registration as British citizens pursuant to Section 1(1) and Schedule 2 respectively of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990, subject to confirmation of no change in the applicants' circumstances.
