Members had considered the profiles of all occupational groups in the GOC and the DSC by the end of 1991 and advised that personality checks and verification interviews be carried out for applicants who scored the highest number of provisional points within the quota of their selected occupational group. Up till now, members have noted the results of personality checks and verification interviews on a total of 12,408 applicants and their dependants in various occupational groups in these two classes and advised that their applications be submitted to the Governor for recommendation to the Secretary of State for registration as British citizens.

Recently, the Immigration Department has completed personality checks and verification interviews on 1,291 principal applicants, their Annex A 967 spouses and 1,304 minor children in 11 occupational groups at Annex A. The checks and interviews have not revealed any adverse information on any of these applicants or their dependents. All the 1,291 principal applicants and their 2,271 dependents appear to be suitable for recommendation by the Governor to the Secretary of State for registration. as British citizens pursuant to Section 1(1) and Schedule 2 respectively of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990, subject to confirmation of no change in the applicants' circumstances.
