Dear Marti

HONG KONG/KOREA AIR SERVICES

1.

London SWIA 2AH

Telephone: 071-

Thank you for your letter of 6 January asking for a reply to your earlier letter on 22 November. In enclose a copy of my reply to you on 12 December, which, for some reason, appears not to have been sent. My apologies for this.

2.

As you say in your letter, things are changing very rapidly on the China/South Korean front. I notice that an article in the PRC, backed by Wen Wei Po, talks about the signing of a UK/Korea Air Services Agreement, and use the Chinese characters XIEDING rather than XIEYI.

As you probably remember from some of our tedious arguments with the JLG, the use of the former implies much more formal a set of dealings than the latter. FED believe that there could be dramatic changes at almost any time. We will clearly need to watch this space.

You eve Rod
