The Marine Department has taken action to obtain reports of piracy involving HK registered ships and has issued a circular to ship owners urging them to make reports.

The information available so far is as follows:

Attacked in Indonesian waters on 19 August 1991. Details obtained from owners after learning of attack. Reported to IMO, but ship's name withheld for reasons of confidentiality. of the report is attached at Annex B(1).

Incident reported to Marine Adviser, who passed a copy of the original report to FCO, London, for the attention of Mr Paul Williams, Aviation and Marine Department. The Marine Department will report to IMO.

Attacked in Indonesian waters on 19 April 1992 and reported to Marine Department. Reported to IMO, as per attached copy at Annex B (3)
"CMB Winner" (Anglo Eastern Ship Management Ltd)
Attacked on 15 October 1991 in Lagos, Nigeria. Not reported to Marine Department. Reported to IMO by the Interenational Shipping Federation. Owners have been requested to provide details.

Attacked on 18 October 1991 in Malacca Strait. Not reported to Marine Department. Reported to IMO by the International Shipping Federation. Owners have been requested to provide details.
