COMMENTARY
Some Members suggested that if
additional
convention
facilities are required in Hong Kong, these
should be provided irrespective of these meetings and
the two issues kept separate.
DECISION
that
The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED
a further submission should be made on
the management and cost aspect of
holding the meeting in Hong Kong. The
paper should also examine the options
available regarding the venue for the
Opening Ceremony bearing in mind the
Bank/Fund's
preliminary suggestion that the Coliseum
might be suitable and concern expressed
by a Member about transport-related
problems in using that venue for the
Ceremony.
